Middle East Energy: AR popup invite

Blending creative design and immersive tech
We designed a popup AR invitation for Middle East Energy, enhancing engagement by bringing the event layout to life for attendees.
Overview
We conceptualized and produced a bespoke pop-up card, featuring the iconic DWTC tower, designed for Middle East Energy event sponsors and their key clients. This wasn’t just a simple invitation; it was a gateway to an immersive experience. We integrated an Augmented Reality (AR) activation that transformed the physical pop up card into a digital preview of the event layout.
Sponsors were thrilled to see their designated areas come alive, highlighted with interactive visuals and key event features. This offered event sponsors a unique and engaging opportunity to invite their most important clients, providing them with an innovative and memorable preview of the event.
The AR experience offered a tangible sense of anticipation, allowing recipients to virtually explore the event space and understand the strategic placement of sponsor locations.
Challenges
- User experience: Ensuring the AR experience was accessible to a broad audience, regardless of their familiarity with AR technology. We provided clear instructions to simplify the process of scanning and navigating the augmented content
- Sustained interest: Maintaining user engagement throughout the AR experience. Our design focused on providing practical information about the event layout and sponsor locations, rather than relying solely on novelty
Business value
The AR invitation provided these benefits:
- Improved sponsor visibility: The AR activation provided a visual representation of sponsor locations within the event layout, increasing their visibility to attendees.
- Increased event engagement: The interactive nature of the AR invitation generated interest in the event, and the integrated RSVP feature simplified the registration process.
